  • Experts stress having adequate IT professionals

    ICT experts at a function here on Monday said the country does not have adequate IT manpower to implement the ‘Digital Bangladesh’ programme as announced by the government.

    They said adequate technical workforce having skill, experience and additional ability in functional matters is necessary to implement digitalised operating system in core areas of state functionaries conducive to socioeconomic development.

    The Department of Computer Science of the International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT) arranged the special get-together programme for Freshmen Spring 2012 and Alumni Fall 2011 on its campus.

    IUBAT Vice Chancellor Prof Dr M Alimullah Miyan, coordinator of Department of Computer Science Utpal Kanti Das, faculty members Imran Mahmudand and Arifatur Rahman, among others, spoke at the function.

    Prof Dr M Alimullah Miyan said without ensuring the mushroom growth of technically expert manpower, the policy of digitalisation will not see the light as such dedicated teams of competent and highly skilled technical manpower is necessary to replace the age-old traditional system.

    He suggested forming a policy and taking an action plan to produce ICT professionals on urgent basis in line with global changes.
