    After two consecutive bearish sessions, trading at the country’s twin bourses – Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – returned to bullish trend on Wednesday as prices of most of the issues increased. This week, most of issues in the two burses witnessed losses on Monday and Tuesday after they made continued gains in six successive sessions in last two weeks. The DSE benchmark index, DSEX went up to 4748.51 points on Wednesday while the turnover was slightly higher on the day than on Tuesday. Trading at both DSE and CSE began on positive note in the morning on Wednesday and ended the day with moderate gain after some ups and downs throughout the session. The volume of trade in terms of value was higher at both the bourses on the day than on Tuesday. The DSE benchmark index, DSEX gained 41.97 points or 0.89 percent to reach 4748.51 at the close of trading on Wednesday. Of the 288 issues traded, 208 gained, 62 declined and 18 remained unchanged. Most of the traded issues of the day included those from insurance, banking, technologies,, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, textile and petroleum sectors. Shares worth Tk 627.84 crore changed hands at the DSE on the day against Tk 593.28 crore on Tuesday, showing daily turnover gain of Tk 34.56 crore. The day’s top 10 gainers at the DSE were Progressive Life, Sunlife Insurance, BIFC, Nitol Insurance, Argon Denims, Metro Spinning, Aamra Technologies, Anlima Yarn, Style Craft, and Padma Life Insurance. Meghna Petroleum, Lanka Bangla, and Aamra Technologies were the top most traded issues at the DSE in terms of value while United Air, Aamra Technologies, and National Bank were the most traded on the in terms of volume. The CSE key index, CSCX gained 80.61 points to reach 9332.64 at the close today. Of the 234 issues traded, 148 advanced, 63 suffered loss and 23 remained unchanged. The value of the traded issues was Tk 56.99 crore on the day against Tk 51.13 crore on Tuesday. Earlier in the morning, the DSEX gained 35.61 points or 0.75 percent to reach 4742.15 points at 11:20 am while the CSCX gained 61.66 points to stand at 9313.69 points, also at 11:20 am today.
