Ten mobile teams of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) will conduct drives to prevent adulteration of iftar and other food items during the Ramadan. Masudur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations) of DMP told on Saturday the drives are aimed to ensure safe food during the Ramadan, the holy month of fasting. Tight security measures will be taken to ensure peaceful shopping, check on fake currency notes, and security for the public in the market places and shopping malls ahead of the Eid. Community police will also work along with police, he said. State Minister for Home Affairs Asaduzzaman Khan said the drive against the adulteration in food items will continue during the month of Ramadan. Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) and additional police will be deployed in the capital as well as in other parts of the county to ensure security in the shopping malls and markets during Ramadan and Eid. He also said that Close Circuit Cameras will be installed in the shopping malls in the capital.
